INS Chilka Hosts Passing Out Parade for Indian Navy's Agniveers and Coast Guard Naviks

The sixth cohort of Agniveers from the Indian Navy and Naviks from the Indian Coast Guard celebrated the conclusion of their initial training with a ceremonial Passing Out Parade at INS Chilka. Held post-sunset, the event marked the induction of 2010 Agniveers, including 309 women, and 276 Naviks into active service as they took the “Antim Pag”.
Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command, reviewed the proceedings, while Commodore B Deepak Aneel, Commanding Officer of INS Chilka, acted as the conducting officer. The ceremony was attended by distinguished veterans Om Prakash Singh, Surendra Singh Rathaur, and Onkar Singh Shekhawat, alongside renowned sports personality Md Anas Yahia. Family members of the trainees were also present to witness the occasion.

This event highlighted the Navy's commitment to inclusivity and readiness, aiming to establish a force that is credible, cohesive, and combat-ready. Vice Admiral Pendharkar extended his congratulations to the trainees, motivating them to embody the Navy’s core principles of Duty, Honour, and Courage.

Recognition was given to outstanding performers at the event: Lalit Karki and Viakash Singh were awarded the Chief of Naval Staff Rolling Trophy and Gold Medal for Best Agniveer SSR and MR, respectively. Tatduri Akhila received the Gen Bipin Rawat Rolling Trophy as Best Woman Agniveer, and Vishal Dhiman was acknowledged as Best Navik.

During the valedictory ceremony, Shivaji Division claimed the Overall Championship Trophy, while Ashok Division was named the Runners-Up. The Chief Guest also unveiled the latest edition of Ankur, the bilingual magazine for trainees at INS Chilka.
