The Indian Navy has bolstered its maritime infrastructure with the commissioning of its new naval base, INS Aravali, in Gurugram. This significant event, which enhances India's capabilities in maritime information and dominance, was attended by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff.
During the ceremony, Admiral Tripathi was greeted with a 50-men Guard of Honour. Captain Sachin Kumar Singh, who is the inaugural Commanding Officer of INS Aravali, delivered a Sanskrit invocation before presenting the commissioning warrant. The ceremony also featured Mrs. Shashi Tripathi, President of the Naval Wives Welfare Association, unveiling the commissioning plaque, followed by the raising of the Naval Ensign and the National Anthem, culminating with the raising of the commissioning pennant.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff, as well as senior naval officers and other distinguished guests.
Admiral Tripathi, speaking at the event, stressed the strategic significance of INS Aravali, describing it as an essential foundation for administrative and logistical support. He expressed that the base would serve as a hub for technology and collaboration, connecting platforms and partners globally. He further added that it aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of MAHASAGAR — Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions — thereby enhancing India's position as a Preferred Security Partner in the Indian Ocean Region.

The Chief of Naval Staff congratulated the commissioning crew, urging them to adhere to the Navy's core values of Duty, Honour, and Courage as they strive for excellence in information dominance.
INS Aravali, named after the enduring Aravali mountain range, is set to play a pivotal role in supporting the Navy’s information and communication centres. These centres are crucial to India’s Command, Control, and Maritime Domain Awareness framework.

The base, guided by the motto ‘सामुद्रिकसुरक्षायाः सहयोगं’ (Maritime Security through Collaboration), reflects India’s dedication to seamless cooperation with naval units, MDA centres, and partner stakeholders. Its crest, depicting the Aravali mountains and a rising sun, symbolizes strength, resilience, and the dawn of new technological advancements.
With the inauguration of INS Aravali, the Indian Navy reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests through advanced communication, collaboration, and information-led operations.
