Indian Army DG Recruiting Reviews Agniveer Rally in Delhi, Monitors RFID Trials

The Indian Army’s Director General Recruiting visited the ongoing Agniveer Recruitment Rally at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Bawana, Delhi, on September 15, 2026, reviewing the conduct of the process on the ground and speaking directly with candidates taking part in the selection exercise.

The visit centred on both the operational management of the rally and a trial of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology being tested at the site. The DG Recruiting monitored the RFID trials and assessed how the system could be introduced across different stages of the recruitment process, as the Army continues to explore technology-based methods to manage large crowds and streamline candidate handling.

During the inspection, the DG Recruiting appreciated the efforts of the Independent Recruiting Office (IRO), Delhi, and the Local Military Authority under Headquarters Delhi Area for ensuring the rally was conducted smoothly and successfully. The civil administration also received acknowledgement for its support in facilitating the event and coordinating arrangements for the large number of aspirants participating in the selection process.

As part of the review, the DG Recruiting interacted with Agniveer aspirants and sought their feedback on their experience at the rally. That feedback, according to the Army, is expected to help further improve both the recruitment process and the facilities provided to candidates at future rallies.

The Bawana rally is part of the Indian Army’s ongoing recruitment drive for young candidates under the Agnipath scheme, which continues to draw aspirants for military service through the Agniveer selection process. The emphasis on RFID trials at the venue reflects the Army’s effort to make recruitment more transparent, efficient and easier to manage during high-footfall rallies.
