CISF Trains BSF Personnel in Airport Security Procedures at Delhi ASTI

New Delhi, November 3, 2026: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has conducted a specialised one-day airport security training programme for Border Security Force (BSF) officers and personnel at the Airport Security Training Institute (ASTI) under CISF Unit ASG Delhi, with a focus on airport security procedures, screening technologies and operational practices.

The programme was designed to familiarise BSF personnel with core elements of aviation security, including Access Control Management and the use of major security screening systems deployed at airports. Participants were trained in the operation of X-ray Baggage Inspection Systems (X-BIS), Hand-Held Metal Detectors (HHMD), Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMD) and Explosive Trace Detectors (ETD).

According to the source, the training was delivered by experienced ASTI instructors and combined classroom lectures with equipment familiarisation sessions and practical demonstrations. The format allowed the participants to gain direct exposure to how modern airport security systems function and how screening and access control procedures are implemented on the ground.

The CISF said the initiative reflects its commitment to strengthening professional capabilities, encouraging knowledge sharing and improving coordination among India’s Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Such training also helps personnel build a common understanding of technical procedures that are increasingly important in airport security operations.

Through programmes of this kind, the CISF continues to support inter-force cooperation and capacity building, while helping security personnel develop the technical knowledge and operational skills needed to respond to evolving security challenges.
