Young Officers’ Course Concludes at Infantry School Mhow; Lt Arjun Singh Bhist Recognized as Best Student
The Infantry School in Mhow has celebrated the successful conclusion of the Young Officers’ Course on November 15, 2025. This event marked a significant achievement for Infantry Officers from India as well as from six Friendly Foreign Countries, namely Bhutan, Maldives, Mauritius, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe. A total of 46 foreign officers participated alongside their Indian counterparts, highlighting the robust military cooperation and shared professional values among the nations involved.
The course is structured to provide young officers with comprehensive training on Platoon- and Company-level Weapons and Tactics. It aims to equip them with the necessary skills, confidence, and leadership abilities to effectively operate in various operational settings. The training comprised rigorous field exercises, tactical drills, weapon-handling sessions, and simulation-based learning, exposing the officers to the complete scope of infantry operations.

Among the participants, Lt Arjun Singh Bhist was recognized as the Overall Best Student of the course. His outstanding performance, professional competence, and exemplary leadership qualities distinguished him from his peers. Additionally, Lt Karma Phuntsho from Bhutan stood out among the officers from Friendly Foreign Countries, excelling in key areas such as Platoon Weapon, Support Weapon, and Tactics. His accomplishments earned him high praise from instructors and fellow trainees.

The award recipients were honored by Maj Gen Gautam Chauhan, VSM, the Officiating Commandant of The Infantry School. He applauded the young officers for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to maintaining the esteemed traditions of the infantry. He urged them to apply the lessons learned and utilize their skills with confidence and responsibility in their future operational roles.
