In a significant announcement at the North Tech Symposium 2026 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed that investment proposals exceeding ₹35,000 crore are currently underway within the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor.
The Chief Minister, advocating the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, pointed out the state's swift advancements in defence manufacturing. These advancements encompass BrahMos missiles, advanced weapon systems, small arms, precision instruments, and military textiles. He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is on the verge of becoming a major hub for defence production in India.

Adityanath also highlighted the importance of a strong ecosystem, which includes MSMEs, skilled workforce, and improved infrastructure, in propelling the corridor's growth. The state government's policy measures and an industry-friendly climate have played a crucial role in drawing substantial investments to the defence sector.

Addressing the theme of the symposium, "Raksha Triveni Sangam," the Chief Minister stated that the platform facilitates the unification of technology, knowledge, and innovation by connecting the armed forces, industry, startups, and academia.

This initiative is anticipated to bolster India's homegrown defence capabilities, lessen reliance on imports, and create jobs, thereby establishing Uttar Pradesh as a crucial player in the nation's self-reliant defence framework.
