Western Command Briefs HDMC Officers on Operational Planning, Logistics and Future Warfare
Headquarters Western Command recently hosted officers attending the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) for a focused professional military engagement centred on operational planning and the conduct of contemporary military operations. The interaction brought together serving officers and senior command leadership to examine how modern formations are planned, integrated and employed in a battlefield environment that is becoming increasingly complex.
The engagement was designed to give the HDMC participants a deeper understanding of the processes that shape military operations at the operational level. During the briefing, the officers were taken through operational planning procedures, the integration of logistics with operational requirements, and the employment of strike formations in the contemporary battlespace.
According to the discussion points shared during the interaction, effective military operations depend not only on planning a mission, but also on synchronising that planning with logistics, force employment and shifting battlefield demands. The officers were briefed on how these elements must work together to support operations that are both sustained and responsive to evolving conditions.
