Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty Appointed Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff for Policy and Force Development

Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty has been appointed as the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, specifically overseeing Policy Planning and Force Development. This crucial role within India's defence framework was assumed by McCarty on August 1, following his previous position as Controller Personnel Services at the Naval Headquarters.

Renowned for his distinguished service, Vice Admiral McCarty has held the position of Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet. His leadership during that tenure was recognized with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in January 2024. His extensive operational and administrative expertise is anticipated to enhance India's tri-service coordination, with a focus on policy planning and capability development.

Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, along with senior officials at the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, extended their congratulations and pledged their support to the newly appointed Deputy Chief. His duties will involve crafting integrated strategic policies, guiding future force development, and fostering synergy among the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

As regional security challenges grow, Vice Admiral McCarty's role is expected to be pivotal in advancing India's military integration and refining its strategic approach to future warfare.
