Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh Takes Over as Chief of Personnel at Naval Headquarters

Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, an esteemed officer awarded with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and Nao Sena Medal (NM), has taken on the role of Chief of Personnel at the Naval Headquarters in New Delhi.

Having been commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 1, 1990, Vice Admiral Singh is a specialist in Gunnery and Missiles. Throughout his notable career of over 30 years, he has commanded several prominent warships, including the Missile Vessel INS Vidyut, the Missile Corvette INS Khukri, and the Guided Missile Destroyer INS Kochi.

In addition to his commanding roles, Vice Admiral Singh has held a variety of significant positions, such as Assistant Chief of Personnel (Human Resource Development), Controller of Personnel Services at Naval Headquarters, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, and Commandant of the National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla.

His appointment as Chief of Personnel highlights the Indian Navy's focus on enhancing professional excellence and prioritizing personnel welfare and human resource development as key components of its operational strategy.
