Vice Admiral Ankur Sharma Takes Helm as Director General Naval Projects in Mumbai

Vice Admiral Ankur Sharma took charge as the Director General Naval Projects in Mumbai on December 1, 2025. This appointment highlights a key leadership role within the Indian Navy's technical and project management sectors.

Over his distinguished career of more than 36 years, Vice Admiral Sharma has held significant afloat and shore positions. His contributions have been pivotal in specialized technical areas vital to naval operations and infrastructure development. After being promoted to Flag Rank, he served as the Director General of Weapons Engineering & Systems Evaluation and later as the Assistant Director of Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. In his new role, he succeeds his predecessor with the duty of managing major naval projects in the Mumbai region.

Vice Admiral Sharma has been honored with the Nau Sena Medal, acknowledging his exemplary service and commitment to the Indian Navy.
