UP Police Investigate Alleged Assault on Army Officer by Sub-Inspector

The Uttar Pradesh Police have initiated an investigation following allegations that a police sub-inspector assaulted a serving Indian Army officer in Lucknow. The reported incident, which occurred on June 22 near the PGI police station area, has drawn concern and condemnation from Army authorities.

Lieutenant Colonel Anand Prakash Suman, who is currently stationed at the NCC Directorate Bihar & Jharkhand in Patna, filed the complaint. He stated that the altercation took place at the Telibagh intersection. The officer alleged that a policeman, driving on the wrong side of the road, began verbally abusing him, and when Lt Col Suman lowered his car window, the policeman allegedly slapped him without any provocation.
