UAE Army Medical Delegation Explores AI Advancements at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune
A medical delegation consisting of three members from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Army visited the Armed Forces Center for Computational Medicine (AFCCM) at the Department of Medical Research, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune on October 30, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to promote collaboration and share knowledge regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in healthcare.
Strengthening Medical Collaboration
The delegation, headed by Colonel Saeed Mohammed Abdulla Alardi Alnuaimi, was cordially welcomed by Maj Gen Atul Seth, VSM, Dean and Deputy Commandant of AFMC Pune. During their visit, the officers were informed about the ongoing progress and accomplishments at AFMC in the field of computational medicine, emphasizing the integration of AI and ML into medical diagnostics, research, and healthcare innovation.
Immersive Experience in Medical Technology
The UAE officers engaged in a hands-on coding session as part of the visit, providing them with an immersive experience into the fast-paced world of healthcare technology. This interactive session demonstrated how computational tools and data-driven strategies are transforming patient care, disease prediction, and medical training.
Campus Tour and Interaction
The delegation also explored the AFMC campus, obtaining insights into the institution’s diverse medical education, research facilities, and innovation frameworks. The visit concluded with a meeting with Lt Gen Pankaj P Rao, Director and Commandant of AFMC Pune, where discussions focused on potential future collaborations between the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services and their UAE counterparts in advanced medical technology and research.
