Having been commissioned into the Indian Navy on November 10, 1989, Rear Admiral Raghuram has built a distinguished career over 35 years. His contributions spanned various domains such as naval engineering, ship maintenance, strategic planning, and leadership. In 2017, he received the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) in recognition of his exemplary service.

Rear Admiral Raghuram is an alumnus of the Naval College of Engineering in Lonavala, Cranfield University in the United Kingdom, the Naval War College, and the National Defence College. His expertise encompasses afloat operations, equipment life cycle support, research and development, warship design, combat system integration, and instructional roles.

Throughout his naval tenure, he served on frontline warships including INS Gomati and INS Trishul, participating as a commissioning crew member of the latter. His roles at the Naval Dockyard, the Afloat Support Team for Talwar-class ships, and the Weapons and Electronics Systems Engineering Establishment contributed significantly to his proficiency in life cycle support and combat system integration.

Rear Admiral Raghuram held several significant leadership positions, such as Commanding Officer of INS Valsura, Principal Director of Electrical Engineering at Naval Headquarters, Command Electrical Officer at Headquarters Eastern Naval Command, Chief Staff Officer (Technical) at Headquarters Western Naval Command, and senior roles at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. Before retiring, he served as the Assistant Chief of Materiel, responsible for the maintenance of crucial Indian Navy platforms.

In his new role as CMD of HSL, Rear Admiral Raghuram is set to lead the shipyard in reinforcing its status as a strategic defence shipbuilding organisation, aligning with India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision by bolstering indigenous maritime defence capabilities.
