U.S. Conducts Airstrikes on Iran's Nuclear Facilities: Trump Confirms Hits on Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan

President Donald Trump has announced that the United States has carried out targeted airstrikes on three nuclear sites in Iran, namely Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. This move represents a significant intensification in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump described the operation as successful, noting, “We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran... All planes are safely on their way home.” He lauded the operation as a testament to the unmatched capabilities of the American military and emphasized, “NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”

While Trump did not specify the aircraft involved in the operation, sources informed Reuters that B-2 Spirit stealth bombers were utilized. These bombers are capable of deploying the 30,000-pound GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator, a bomb designed to destroy heavily fortified underground targets, such as Iran's Fordow nuclear facility.

Reports earlier suggested that six B-2 bombers had been observed heading to Guam from Whiteman Air Force Base, indicating a buildup prior to the strike.

This military action follows more than a week of aerial combat between Israel and Iran, which has led to significant casualties and damage to critical infrastructure. The conflict began when Israel launched a surprise wave of airstrikes on June 13, targeting Iranian military and nuclear facilities.

Despite Tehran's assertions that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes, both Israel and now the United States have intervened, alleging that Iran is rapidly advancing toward nuclear weaponization.

As international leaders urge caution, Trump's announcement marks a pivotal escalation in U.S. involvement, with broad implications for regional stability, energy security, and diplomatic efforts in West Asia.
