Symposium at College of Defence Management Explores Future Warfare and Multi-Domain Operations

The College of Defence Management (CDM) in Secunderabad recently held a symposium titled "Convergence of Domains: Emergence of Future Warfare." This event brought together senior military officials, defence scientists, industry experts, and practitioners to discuss the changing nature of modern warfare and the technological advancements shaping future battlefields.

Air Marshal Yalla Umesh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Maintenance Command, inaugurated the symposium. He stressed the importance of integrating emerging technologies with military strategies to equip the Armed Forces for future security challenges. The event provided a platform for collaborative discussions on the convergence of operational domains and the complexities of modern conflicts.

The discussions emphasized how technological advancements are altering warfare, necessitating integrated approaches that combine capabilities across land, air, sea, cyber, and space domains. Their contributions underscored the growing importance of collaboration between the Armed Forces, research organizations, and private industry in accelerating defence innovation.

Throughout the symposium, participants explored how evolving operational environments demand closer integration between technological development, strategic planning, and military doctrine. The discussions underscored the need for a comprehensive ecosystem involving the Services, academia, research institutions, and industry to build capabilities suited for future conflicts.
