Surgeon Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai Assesses Naval Medical Infrastructure in Gujarat

Surgeon Vice Admiral Kavita Sahai, AVSM, SM, VSM, in her capacity as Director General Medical Services (Navy), embarked on a comprehensive three-day assessment of the Gujarat Naval Area from March 23 to 25. Her visit focused on evaluating the medical facilities and healthcare services provided at various naval establishments.

Throughout her visit, Sahai conducted thorough inspections of medical facilities located at INS Sardar Patel, the Naval Air Enclave (NAE), and the Indian Coast Guard units at Porbandar, as well as at INS Dwarka in Okha.

Accompanying her was Surgeon Rear Admiral K M Adhikari, the Chief Medical Officer (West). During the visit, she engaged in discussions with Rear Admiral Sritanu Guru, VSM, Flag Officer Gujarat Naval Area (FOGNA), to evaluate current medical projects and the readiness of operational healthcare.

A significant event during her visit was the inauguration of a new physiotherapy clinic at INS Sardar Patel. This facility is intended to enhance medical support infrastructure and improve the quality of care available to naval personnel and their families.

The visit highlights the Indian Navy's ongoing commitment to advancing military medical capabilities, achieving healthcare excellence, and ensuring preparedness in medical services across its operational areas.
