Surgeon Commodore B Vikas Takes Over as Commanding Officer of INHS Sanjivani
Surgeon Commodore B Vikas took over as the commanding officer of INHS Sanjivani, the leading medical facility of the Southern Naval Command, on December 19, 2025. He replaced Surgeon Commodore R W Thergaonkar during a formal division ceremony at the hospital.

Surg Cmde Vikas brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. He is an alumnus of the Indian Naval War College and the National Defence College, and also holds an Executive MBA from IIT Madras. His career is marked by significant positions such as Fleet Medical Officer (West), Director (Provisioning) at the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), and Senior Registrar at INHS Asvini.

The transition in leadership is a pivotal event for INHS Sanjivani, which remains a crucial institution for delivering top-tier medical services and support to members of the Indian Navy and other military branches within the Southern Naval Command.
