Subedar Surinder Singh Earns Top Honors in Junior Leaders Academy Course at Bareilly
The Junior Leaders Academy (JLA) in Bareilly successfully completed the Potential Subedar Major Course for Junior Leaders on February 3, 2026. This marked the end of an intensive four-week professional development program aimed at senior junior leaders.
Participants in the course included Subedar Majors, equivalent ranks, and Potential Subedar Majors from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Special Frontier Force, and the Assam Rifles. The program was crafted to enhance leadership capabilities, boost professional skills, and prepare attendees to effectively bridge the gap between officers and troops in increasingly complex operational settings.

During the course's closing ceremony, Brigadier Gaurav Kapoor, Commandant of the Junior Leaders Academy, underscored the essential function of Subedar Majors in contemporary military frameworks. He stressed the need for understanding inter-service dynamics, fostering joint operational thought, and adapting leadership styles to the changing geopolitical landscape and future warfare scenarios.

The program concluded with an awards announcement, where Subedar Surinder Singh from the 16 Dogra was recognized as the “Overall Best Student.” He was commended for his exceptional performance, leadership skills, and professional excellence throughout the duration of the course.

The successful execution of this course reaffirms JLA Bareilly’s commitment to cultivating senior junior leaders who serve as critical components of discipline, morale, and operational efficacy within the Armed Forces.
