The Potential Subedar Major Course, aimed at junior leaders, concluded at the Junior Leaders Academy on May 14, 2026. This intensive four-week professional program emphasized leadership development and operational preparedness.

The course was attended by Subedar Majors and equivalent ranks, including potential Subedar Majors from the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Assam Rifles, and the Special Frontier Force (SFF).

The programme's primary objectives were to enhance leadership skills, foster inter-service cooperation, and boost battlefield readiness for emerging operational challenges.

During the valedictory ceremony, Brigadier Gaurav Kapoor, the academy's Commandant, underscored the critical role of Subedar Majors in maintaining cohesive force dynamics and operational efficiency. He also stressed the importance of leadership excellence in the face of evolving geopolitical and technological challenges.

Brigadier Kapoor highlighted the need for developing a digital mindset and adaptive leadership qualities to succeed in modern warfare scenarios.

Subedar Govind Ram Mahala of the JAT Regiment received recognition as the “Overall Best Student” for his exemplary performance throughout the course.
