SSP Ajai Singh Advocates Cyber Security and Inter-Agency Cooperation in Dialogue with IMA Cadets
In an effort to enhance cooperation between agencies and increase cyber awareness among upcoming military officers, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun, Ajai Singh, engaged with cadets from the Indian Military Academy (IMA) on Monday. The discussion provided important insights into cyber safety, internal security, and the coordination between police and army forces.
Bridging Forces for National Security
As part of the session, 205 cadets from the IMA, who are currently in training, visited the Dehradun Police Office. This visit aimed to give them a direct understanding of the Police Control Room (PCR) operations and the collaborative efforts between the Army and Police during joint missions.
SSP Ajai Singh emphasized the joint responsibility that the Army and Police share in ensuring internal security and maintaining public order. He pointed out that effective collaboration is crucial to address contemporary threats, including terrorism, misinformation, and cybercrime.
Raising Awareness on Cyber Threats
The SSP informed the cadets about the new challenges arising in the digital world, such as cyber scams aimed at defence personnel, identity theft, and social engineering tactics used by cybercriminals. He advised them on measures to protect personal and official data, stressing the need for digital discipline and vigilance in online activities.
Understanding Police Operations
The cadets also received a comprehensive explanation of the Police Control Room's operations, including the coordination of emergency responses through the 112 helpline system. SSP Singh described how the control room functions as the central hub for quick response and crisis management, providing timely help to citizens in emergencies.
Strengthening Inter-Agency Coordination
The session offered valuable knowledge for the cadets, enabling them to comprehend how the Army and Police support each other in protecting national security and upholding law and order.
SSP Ajai Singh concluded the interaction by encouraging the cadets to stay technologically informed and to maintain a sense of duty, discipline, and coordination as they prepare for their roles as commissioned officers in the Indian Army.
This initiative highlighted the significance of ongoing engagement between the armed forces and civil police, with the aim of creating a unified security framework for the country.
