Sri Lankan Army Officers Complete Intelligence Training at India's Premier Military School
On July 25, 2026, twenty-two officers from the Sri Lankan Army completed a specialized Intelligence Training Course at the Military Intelligence Training School and Depot (MINTSD), underscoring the strengthening of defence ties and military collaboration between India and Sri Lanka.
This tailor-made course aimed to enhance the participants' skills in modern military intelligence, offering them advanced insights into intelligence tradecraft, analytical methods, and operational intelligence processes. It is part of the Indian Army's ongoing efforts to build capacity and provide professional military education for officers from Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs).
During the training, the Sri Lankan officers were instructed extensively in Intelligence Tradecraft and Intelligence Analysis. The curriculum was designed to hone their analytical abilities, intelligence gathering techniques, and assessment methodologies, with a focus on the practical application of military intelligence in current operational contexts. This preparation enables officers to better comprehend evolving security challenges and enhance their decision-making capabilities in military operations.
The Military Intelligence Training School and Depot has established itself as a leading institution for military intelligence education, both for Indian Army personnel and officers from partner countries.
