Skill Development Initiative by Fire and Fury Corps Empowers Women in Ladakh
The Fire and Fury Corps, in partnership with Jan Shiksha Sansthan, Leh, conducted a Skill Development Programme at Shachukul Village, Tangtse in Ladakh from March 9 to March 21, 2026. This event was part of the Skill India Initiative led by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).

In an effort to empower women through skills, a group of 30 women were provided with certified training in Soft Toy Making and Mushroom Cultivation. This training was facilitated by instructors affiliated with MSDE and supported by the Trishul Division.

The programme aims to boost self-employment and foster economic independence for women residing in remote border villages like Shachukul. This initiative is designed to enhance their opportunities for self-sufficiency.

Local participants engaged enthusiastically in the programme, underscoring its beneficial role in promoting community development.
This initiative underscores the Indian Army's dedication not only to maintaining national security but also to empowering local communities and promoting socio-economic growth in border areas.
