Safran and Maini Precision Products Ink MoU to Expand LEAP Engine Production

Safran Aircraft Engines, a prominent figure in aircraft engine design and production, has entered into a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maini Precision Products Limited (MPPL), a Bengaluru-based aerospace precision products manufacturer affiliated with the Raymond Group. This agreement, revealed at the Paris Air Show 2025 in Le Bourget, aims to facilitate the production ramp-up of the CFM LEAP engine, which is utilized in commercial single-aisle aircraft.
The MoU was signed by Dominique Dupuy, Safran Aircraft Engines' Vice President of Purchasing, and Gautam Maini, Managing Director of MPPL, with Raymond Group Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Singhania in attendance. This five-year agreement builds upon a long-standing partnership between the companies, enhancing MPPL's role in manufacturing machined assemblies for LEAP engine combustors.
Dominique Dupuy stated, “For 25 years, we have partnered with MPPL in the machining of CFM56 and LEAP parts. Today, we are renewing our trust in this reliable partner and expanding our collaboration to support the LEAP engine ramp-up and strengthen our footprint in India.”
MPPL has been a dependable supplier of turbine vanes and forged and machined metallic products for Safran, and was the first Indian aerospace partner for the French aerospace giant. The company is recognized for its expertise in manufacturing critical components for N2, N3, and N4 engine parts, establishing itself as a preferred vendor for global aerospace enterprises.
This agreement highlights India's expanding role in the global aerospace manufacturing sector and aligns with the Make in India initiative, which aims to enhance domestic capabilities in advanced defense and aviation industries. The collaboration is anticipated to further incorporate Indian suppliers into international aviation programs, enhancing the reliability and scalability of one of the most sophisticated commercial aircraft engines currently in service.
