Rear Admiral Vikas Chawla Takes Over as Assistant Chief of Materiel at Naval Headquarters
Rear Admiral Vikas Chawla has taken over the role of Assistant Chief of Materiel (Dockyard & Refit) at the Naval Headquarters in New Delhi. This appointment follows his recent promotion to Flag Rank within the Indian Navy.
Born on July 1, 1994, Rear Admiral Chawla is an accomplished graduate of several esteemed institutions, including the National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla, the Naval College of Engineering in Lonavala, and the National Defence College in New Delhi.

Throughout his career, Rear Admiral Chawla has held numerous crucial operational and technical positions. His service on warships such as INS Ranvir, INS Mumbai, and INS Tabar marks his significant contribution to naval operations. Additionally, his work at the Naval Dockyards in both Mumbai and Visakhapatnam highlights his involvement in refit, maintenance, and operational support activities.
Previously, Rear Admiral Chawla served as the Training Captain and Head of Faculty (Engineering) at the Indian Naval Academy, where he was instrumental in training future naval engineers. At the Naval Headquarters, he has been involved in areas such as Ship Production, Naval Training, and Indigenisation, showcasing his broad expertise.

For his exceptional service, he has been honored with the Nao Sena Medal.
In his new capacity, Rear Admiral Chawla is anticipated to significantly enhance the Navy's capabilities in managing dockyard operations, refit processes, and maintenance tasks, drawing upon his extensive technical and leadership experience.
