Rear Admiral Manoj Jha Takes Command as Chief Staff Officer of Eastern Naval Command

Rear Admiral Manoj Jha, VSM, has officially taken over as the Chief Staff Officer (Operations) of the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) today, marking a significant achievement in his notable naval career.

Rear Admiral Jha, who was commissioned into the Indian Navy on January 1, 1995, is a graduate of several esteemed institutions including the Naval Academy in Goa, the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, the Naval War College in Goa, and the Royal College of Defence Studies in the United Kingdom.

Specializing in gunnery, the officer has commanded numerous leading warships. His leadership roles included commanding the destroyer INS Chennai, serving as the first commissioning Commanding Officer of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette INS Kamorta, and acting as Executive Officer on the aircraft carrier INS Viraat.

Before his current role, Rear Admiral Jha was the Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Communications, Space and Network-Centric Operations) and held the position of Commodore (Personnel) at Naval Headquarters, where he significantly contributed to operational and personnel policy development.
