Rear Admiral Ashish Bhargava Inspects NCC Directorate in Chennai, Reviews Units at Fort St George

Rear Admiral Ashish Bhargava, Additional Director General (A) at Headquarters Directorate General National Cadet Corps (DGNCC), has reviewed the NCC Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman & Nicobar Directorate as part of its Annual Administrative Inspection, during a visit to Chennai.

The inspection focused on the functioning and administrative preparedness of the Directorate, with Rear Admiral Bhargava assessing several areas related to NCC activities, training and administration. The exercise is part of the NCC leadership’s regular review mechanism to examine how directorates and units are functioning and whether training and administrative standards are being maintained.

During the Chennai visit, he also inspected 1 Tamil Nadu Naval Unit NCC and 1 Tamil Nadu Signal Company NCC, both located at the historic Fort St George. These visits offered a closer look at the units’ day-to-day functioning and their role in training cadets while promoting discipline and leadership qualities among them.

Rear Admiral Bhargava is now scheduled to proceed to NCC Group Headquarters Madurai and the NCC Training Academy (NTA) at Idayapatti as part of the ongoing inspection programme. The visit there will continue the broader administrative assessment underway across the NCC establishment in the region.

The Annual Administrative Inspection is the NCC’s periodic review of its directorates, group headquarters and units, aimed at ensuring effective administration, training standards and operational readiness across the organisation.
