OTA Chennai Passing Out Parade: Commissioning of 155 Cadets, Including 25 Women and 21 from Friendly Foreign Countries, September 2025

Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, who serves as the Chief of the Air Staff, presided over the impressive Passing Out Parade at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai. The event marked the completion of training for the Short Service Commission (SSC) Men-120, SSC Women-34, and equivalent courses. The parade was a testament to the discipline and rigorous training at the academy, featuring flawless drills and synchronized movements.

In a significant ceremony, 155 Officer Cadets, including 25 women, were officially commissioned into the Indian Army. Additionally, 21 Officer Cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries, including 12 women, completed their training, further symbolizing international camaraderie and cooperation, strengthening ties between India and its partner nations.

Air Chief Marshal Singh praised the cadets for their remarkable achievements and acknowledged the proud parents, emphasizing the distinguished honor of serving in the Armed Forces.

After the parade, Air Chief Marshal Singh participated in the Pipping Ceremony, during which the cadets were adorned with stars on their shoulders, marking their official entry into the Army. He extended heartfelt congratulations to the new officers and their families, urging them to uphold the highest traditions and values of the Armed Forces and to become exemplary leaders and role models.

The ceremony concluded with a wreath-laying at the Temple of Remembrance at OTA Chennai, where the Chief of the Air Staff and the cadets paid their respects to the Bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

This eventful day marked not only the end of their intensive training but also the commencement of a journey of service and leadership for the newly inducted officers.
