OTA Chennai Cadets Gain Insight into Combat Army Aviation Training and Capabilities
On June 24, 2026, Officer Cadets from the Officers' Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai visited the Combat Army Aviation Training School (CAATS) as part of their military orientation programme.
The visit aimed to provide these future Indian Army officers with firsthand insights into the professionalism, operational strengths, and evolving role of Army Aviation in the modern military landscape.

During their time at CAATS, the cadets received briefings on the organisation, operational duties, and deployment of Army Aviation assets across diverse mission profiles. The instructors emphasised the critical function of aviation units in improving battlefield mobility, conducting surveillance and reconnaissance, and providing logistics support and combat operation capabilities.
The visit also offered cadets valuable exposure to the advanced training methodologies adopted at the school, designed to prepare Army aviators for effective operations in varied environments. Detailed sessions covered flight training, mission planning, aviation safety, and the integration of rotary-wing platforms in contemporary military operations.

Officials highlighted Army Aviation's role as an essential force multiplier, facilitating rapid troop deployments, casualty evacuations, disaster relief efforts, reconnaissance missions, and precision operational support across challenging terrains.
