Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera Assesses Operational Readiness of Assam Rifles in Nagaland
Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, who serves as the Director General of Assam Rifles, conducted a visit to the Jalukie Battalion in Peren district, Nagaland, on June 24, 2026. The purpose of the visit was to assess the battalion's operational capabilities and overall efficiency.
During the inspection, Lt Gen Lakhera was briefed extensively on the current security conditions, the deployment of forces, and the strategies in place to ensure a high level of readiness in the region. The review aimed at enhancing operational capabilities and staying prepared to tackle emerging security challenges.

The Director General engaged with officers and troops, expressing his admiration for their dedication to maintaining peace and security in Nagaland. He praised their professionalism, operational excellence, and steadfast commitment to duty amid demanding conditions.
In recognition of their exceptional performance, Lt Gen Lakhera awarded On-the-Spot Commendation Cards to three soldiers, acknowledging their exemplary service and significant contributions to operational success.
