Northern Command Head Lt. Gen Sharma Assesses Operational Readiness at Bimber Gali on LoC
Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, recently visited the strategically significant Bimber Gali Brigade to evaluate the readiness of Indian Army units stationed along the Line of Control with Pakistan.

Bimber Gali is a crucial junction in the Poonch district, having experienced over 100 ceasefire violations since the 2021 agreement, according to military reports.
During his interactions with soldiers of various ranks, Lt Gen Sharma commended their discipline, vigilance, and high morale. He emphasized the need for continuous readiness and the adoption of flexible strategies to effectively counter both conventional and unconventional threats in the region. Lt Gen Sharma brings extensive experience to his role, including his previous position as Director General of Information Warfare, which adds a strategic dimension that integrates both kinetic and non-kinetic methods. This includes the use of cyber, electronic, and psychological operations, reflecting a doctrinal shift that aligns with findings from a RAND Corporation study on India's evolving defense strategies.
