NDA Convocation 2025: 328 Cadets Graduate from Prestigious 149th Course
Pune, 29 November 2025 — The National Defence Academy (NDA) celebrated its 149th Course Convocation Ceremony at Habibullah Hall today, signifying an important step in the academic and professional development of future Indian Armed Forces leaders. The event was graced by Dr Ajay Kumar, Chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), who addressed the cadets, faculty, officers, and their families.
Upon arrival, Dr Ajay Kumar was welcomed by Vice Admiral Anil Jaggi, Commandant of the NDA. During the ceremony, Dr Vinay Deep, the Officiating Principal, presented the Academic Report for the Autumn Term 2025, which highlighted significant accomplishments and the academic excellence attained throughout the term.
In his address, Dr Kumar congratulated the cadets on completing their challenging training at this renowned tri-service academy. He praised their dedication, discipline, and resilience, stressing the importance of their role as Scholar-Warriors in a swiftly evolving security landscape. Dr Kumar also extended his gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support and encouragement, motivating their children to pursue a path of honor and service to the nation.

During the ceremony, a total of 328 cadets graduated as part of the 149th Course. Of these, 216 cadets earned Bachelor's Degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), distributed as follows:

Moreover, 18 cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries were also awarded degrees, underscoring India's commitment to international military training partnerships and strengthening defense cooperation.
In a separate ceremony, 112 cadets from the B.Tech stream (Navy and Air Force) received certificates for completing their three-year course. These cadets will obtain their B.Tech degrees after an additional year of training at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and the Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.

The event underscored NDA's focus on academic excellence, character-building, and comprehensive development. Several cadets were recognized for their outstanding achievements:
Cadet Kartik Maheshwari of 'M' Squadron topped the Science Stream with an FGPA of 8.11, earning the Commandant's Silver Medal and the COAS Rolling Trophy, established by General K. Sunderji (Retd).
Cadet Ananya of 'G' Squadron led the Computer Science Stream with an FGPA of 8.36, receiving the Commandant's Silver Medal and the Admiral's Rolling Trophy, donated by Admiral Sureesh Mehta (Retd).
Cadet Anurag Gupta of 'B' Squadron excelled in the Social Science Stream with an FGPA of 7.44, achieving the Commandant's Silver Medal and the CAS Trophy, presented by Air Chief Marshal NC Suri (Retd).
Cadet Vishwesh Bhalerao of 'F' Squadron excelled in the B.Tech Stream with a CGPA of 8.05 over six semesters at NDA, receiving the Commandant's Silver Medal and the CISC Trophy, presented by HQ Integrated Defence Staff.
The convocation concluded with enthusiastic applause for the graduating cadets, who are now poised to embark on the next phase of their military careers, prepared to serve, lead, and maintain the highest standards of the Indian Armed Forces.
