Navy Chief Emphasizes Enhanced Cooperation with Coast Guard at Commanders’ Conference

Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM, and Chief of the Naval Staff, recently made a visit to the Indian Coast Guard Headquarters in New Delhi for the 42nd Coast Guard Commanders’ Conference.

During his address, Admiral Tripathi underscored the critical need for synergy between the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard to bolster India's maritime security framework. He advocated for increased interoperability, optimal use of resources, and joint operational readiness to tackle the evolving challenges in maritime security effectively.

The Navy Chief pointed out that the collaboration between the two forces signifies a mutual dedication to protecting national maritime interests, ensuring safe waters, and maintaining India's position as a responsible maritime power.

Admiral Tripathi remarked, “The Indian Navy and Coast Guard together embody the nation’s determination to protect its maritime borders. Our unified capabilities are vital in confronting both traditional and non-traditional maritime threats.”

The conference was a gathering of senior Coast Guard commanders aimed at evaluating operational readiness, addressing emerging issues, and planning for enhanced coordination with other maritime agencies.
