Military Nursing Service Celebrates Centenary with Scuba Diving Expedition Featuring 10 Officers

The Military Nursing Service (MNS) has embarked on a Scuba Diving Expedition to commemorate its 100 years of service, bravery, and dedication. This event, part of the Centenary Celebrations, was inaugurated by Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, DGAFMS, and Lieutenant General C.G. Muralidharan, Director General Medical Services (Army).

Leading the expedition is Lt Col Rashmi Sharma, accompanied by a team of 10 daring officers from the MNS. Scheduled from October 21 to November 5, 2025, this expedition showcases the MNS's unwavering spirit and its commitment to ventures beyond their medical and humanitarian responsibilities.

This initiative is designed to celebrate adventure, resilience, teamwork, and India’s maritime heritage. It exemplifies how the MNS continues to set standards of excellence in service while transcending traditional boundaries. The officers aim to illustrate that the core values of courage and endurance, integral to the MNS since its founding, remain robust after a century of remarkable service.

The expedition also highlights the increasing involvement and leadership of women in adventure and operational sectors of the Armed Forces. It reflects the evolving role of the MNS in shaping the modern ethos of India's military.
