Meet Brigadier Bhupesh Singh Hada: From 10 PARA SF to NSG – A Life of Grit, Glory, and Greatness

Bravery is not just about fighting the enemy on the battlefield—it's about rising with courage in the face of every challenge life throws at you. Brigadier Bhupesh Singh Hada, SC, VSM, is a living embodiment of this principle. From the rugged terrains of Siachen to the shadowy frontlines of counter-terrorism operations, his journey through the Indian Army has been one of relentless excellence, unmatched discipline, and unwavering patriotism.

Roots of Valor: A Noble Beginning

Born in 1970 in the princely town of Boondi, Rajasthan, Brigadier Bhupesh Singh Hada hails from a family steeped in tradition and service. His father, Maharaja Vijayraj Singh, was a respected educationist and social reformer, instilling values of integrity and duty in young Bhupesh. Later, his marriage to Mrs. Padmaja Rathore of Jasol, Barmer, strengthened his ties to Rajasthan’s noble legacy, and their son Raghav continues the family’s proud lineage.

Brig Bhupesh’s journey into the military began at Sainik School, Chittorgarh, a cradle for future warriors. His passion and grit saw him through the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) and later the Indian Military Academy (IMA), where he honed his skills and commitment to serve.

Commissioned into the Madras Regiment in 1991, he soon volunteered for the toughest of the tough—the 10 PARA Special Forces, known as the 'Scorpions'. It was here that his mettle was forged in the crucible of some of the most daring operations in India’s history.

A Decorated Career: Service, Sacrifice, and Supreme Courage

Over a glorious 33-year career, Brig Bhupesh took part in critical military operations like Operation Orchid, Operation Rhino, and Operation Vijay (Kargil War). His commitment extended beyond national borders when he served as a Senior Sector Military Observer for the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia-Eritrea (UNMEE).

For his gallant efforts during anti-terrorist operations in Kashmir, he was awarded the Shaurya Chakra, one of India’s highest peacetime gallantry awards. His outstanding leadership in the treacherous Siachen Glacier earned him the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM). Other prestigious recognitions include:

Commanding the Best: Siachen Brigade and the Black Cats

Brigadier Hada’s leadership went beyond combat. He commanded the Siachen Brigade during Operation Meghdoot, managing one of the world’s highest and harshest battlegrounds. Later, he served in the elite National Security Guard (NSG), India’s premier counter-terrorism force—famously known as the Black Cats.

He also nurtured the next generation of Indian Army warriors as the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor at the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS).

Climbing New Heights: The Mountaineer Within

In 2012, Brig Bhupesh pushed the boundaries of human endurance by leading an expedition to Mount Everest and Mount Lhotse, even participating in the iconic Everest Marathon. His mountaineering feats are not just achievements, but powerful metaphors for the never-say-die attitude that defines a soldier.

A Royal Honor: The Titular King of Boondi

While India may have constitutionally abolished royal titles, cultural respect still surrounds lineage. On 12 December 2021, Brigadier Hada was ceremonially installed as the Titular King of Boondi, a symbolic honor that reflects his respected place within the Kshatriya community of Rajasthan.

Indian Armed Forces are full real life heroes. We are proud of them.

My father was a Paratrooper in 3 PARA and was part of UNEF in Egypt in late fifties. He was 1) entitled to UNEF medal and 2)was awarded Videsh Sewa Medal with Clasp (Egypt).

The above are lost.

Is there any process get a duplicate of it for his memories to live long.
