MatrixSpace Secures Active Sensor Win in U.S. Army's Operation Flytrap 4.5 Competition
Burlington, MA • November 24, 2025 — MatrixSpace has been recognized as the Active Sensor Winner in the U.S. Army’s xTechCounter Strike competition, a segment of Operation Flytrap 4.5. As the sole active sensing provider among 15 finalists, the company has demonstrated remarkable advancements in portable AI-enabled radar technology for counter-UAS missions.
Operation Flytrap serves as the U.S. Army's flagship project aimed at accelerating the identification, testing, and adoption of state-of-the-art counter-UAS capabilities through direct soldier experimentation and swift acquisition processes, ultimately facilitating their integration into operational units.
At Flytrap 4.5, MatrixSpace showcased its Expeditionary AI Radar and 360 AI Radar, both utilizing the AiEdge software suite. These systems featured:

Four companies were selected as winners, each awarded $350,000 and given entry into the newly formed Global Tactical Edge Acquisition Directorate (G-TEAD) Marketplace, which aims to streamline acquisitions for the U.S. and NATO allies.
