Major General Manish Kumar Reviews Agniveer Recruitment Rally Preparations in Uttar Pradesh with Chief Secretary

Preparations for the next round of Agniveer recruitment rallies in Uttar Pradesh were reviewed at a conference chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Shri Shashi Prakash Goyal, with Additional Director General Recruiting (Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand) Major General Manish Kumar, YSM, SM**, taking part in the discussions.

The meeting focused on the recruitment drive scheduled to begin from mid-August 2026 for Recruiting Year 2027, with officials examining the administrative and logistical arrangements needed to conduct the rallies smoothly, transparently and efficiently. The review also covered the facilities and support systems that would be required for candidates expected to appear at the events.

The Army’s recruitment programme in the state will be organised through the respective Army Recruiting Offices at several major centres in Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Bareilly, Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra and Ayodhya. The rallies are intended to give eligible youth from the state an opportunity to compete for selection into the Indian Army under the Agniveer recruitment framework.

During the conference, Major General Manish Kumar highlighted the areas in which support from the state and district administrations would be essential for the conduct of the rallies. These included coordination over venues, civic arrangements, infrastructure, security, transportation and other logistical requirements linked to managing the recruitment process across multiple locations.

He also acknowledged the support extended by the civil administration to the Army’s recruitment initiatives and stressed that close coordination between the Army and state and district authorities would be necessary to ensure all arrangements are in place before the rallies begin.

A key theme of the meeting was the need to maintain an orderly and well-managed environment for candidates appearing in the recruitment process. Officials discussed how effective coordination between civil authorities and Army Recruiting Offices would help keep the selection exercise accessible and properly organised for eligible aspirants.

Chief Secretary Goyal assured the Army of the Uttar Pradesh administration’s continued support for the recruitment programme. He emphasised the value of the initiative in creating opportunities for the state’s youth while helping identify capable candidates for service in the Armed Forces.

The upcoming rallies form an important part of the Army’s effort to identify and select young men and women seeking to serve in uniform. With the recruitment schedule approaching, the Army, the state government and district administrations are working in tandem to put in place the infrastructure, public services and administrative backing needed for the exercise.

The review meeting indicated that preparations are now being aligned well in advance of the mid-August 2026 start, with coordinated planning expected to support the smooth conduct of the Agniveer recruitment drive across Uttar Pradesh for Recruiting Year 2027.
