Major General Debashish Mukherjee Takes Command at Eastern Command Hospital
Major General Debashish Mukherjee, VSM, took on the role of Commandant at Command Hospital (Eastern Command) in Kolkata following his promotion on July 8, 2026.
Educated at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune, Major General Mukherjee is a highly regarded Surgical Oncologist. With over 30 years of distinguished service in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), he has held numerous pivotal positions in clinical, academic, and command capacities, earning accolades for his professional and leadership skills.
Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), congratulated Major General Mukherjee and wished him well as he took over one of the Armed Forces' leading tertiary care hospitals.
