Major General Anuraag Chhibber Takes Command of Jodhpur Sub Area

Major General Anuraag Chhibber, SM, VSM, has officially assumed the role of General Officer Commanding (GOC) for the Jodhpur Sub Area, marking a significant leadership change within the Southern Command.

The ceremony to mark the assumption of command was attended by senior military officers and staff, highlighting both the historical importance of the region to the military and the Indian Army's ongoing dedication to operational excellence.

Major General Anuraag Chhibber, an esteemed officer of the Indian Army, previously held the position of Additional Director General (ADG) for Land, Works & Environment (LWE). He is noted for his proficiency in managing defence land and assets, significantly contributing to the enhancement of the Indian Army's operational capabilities and strategic preparedness.

The Jodhpur Sub Area, a part of the Southern Command since its establishment in 1895, boasts a rich history, having played a critical role in integrating princely states like Hyderabad and Junagadh after Independence. Today, it continues to be relevant by addressing modern challenges such as drone warfare, tactical mobility, and technological advancements.

The formal ceremony, which included military flags and the symbolic handover of the command board, emphasized the Army’s tradition of structured leadership transitions while underscoring its readiness to meet modern warfare challenges.

With Major General Chhibber leading, the Jodhpur Sub Area is poised to maintain its tradition of discipline, professionalism, and operational readiness, serving as a fundamental part of India’s national defense.
