Maj Gen Sumit Rana Inaugurates RO Bottling Plant, Launches PURE Packaged Water in Meerut
Major General Sumit Rana, General Officer Commanding (GOC), PUPSA, visited 40 Company ASC Type D at Meerut to inspect logistics-related initiatives and review the unit’s operational preparedness.
During the visit, the senior officer inaugurated a new Reverse Osmosis (RO) Bottling Plant and launched PURE packaged drinking water. The initiative is aimed at strengthening self-reliance and improving logistics support within the Army’s supply chain.
Maj Gen Rana also inaugurated a mechanised Group Shed, a facility intended to improve efficiency in logistics operations. In addition, he released a book on Supplies and Fuel, Oil and Lubricants (FOL), reflecting the unit’s focus on practical logistics management and support functions.
The visit highlighted the Army’s push to adopt innovative and efficient solutions across its logistics framework. Such measures are intended to strengthen the ability of logistics units to support operational formations with greater responsiveness.
Maj Gen Rana reviewed the steps undertaken by the unit and emphasised the importance of self-reliance, innovation and efficient resource management in sustaining robust logistics support for the Indian Army.
