Maj Gen Sudhanshu Sharma Reviews Disaster Management and Cyber Security Initiatives in Ladakh
Major General Sudhanshu Sharma, SM, VSM, who serves as the Chief of Staff of the Fire and Fury Corps, recently toured the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and the Ladakh State Data Centre (LSDC) to assess current projects focusing on disaster management, cyber security, and digital infrastructure within the Union Territory of Ladakh.
During his visit, Dr. Stanzin Passang and Mr. Skalzang Dawa provided comprehensive presentations at the Emergency Operations Centre and the Ladakh State Data Centre, respectively.
At the Emergency Operations Centre, officials presented integrated disaster management systems, live warning mechanisms, and the soon-to-be-launched SMS-based alert system, all designed to facilitate timely response and effective disaster mitigation, particularly in remote and vulnerable regions.
Meanwhile, at the Ladakh State Data Centre, secure hosting of government websites and applications was demonstrated, along with advanced cyber security architecture and automated systems aimed at preventing unauthorized access and thwarting malicious cyber activities.
The visit underscored the growing collaboration between the Indian Army and the Ladakh administration, enhancing disaster preparedness, cyber resilience, and civilian welfare support in these strategically crucial border areas.
