Lt Shubham Kumar Named Best Student at Infantry School Young Officers’ Course Completion
The Young Officers’ Course at The Infantry School in Mhow came to a close on February 14, 2026, with the successful culmination of professional training for Infantry officers. This batch included 47 officers hailing from eight Friendly Foreign Countries: Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Ivory Coast, Mongolia, Eswatini, Malawi, Gambia, and Tajikistan.

The course was meticulously designed to provide comprehensive training in platoon and company-level weapons and tactics. It emphasized leadership development, tactical decision-making, and enhancing combat effectiveness among junior officers. This program was specifically geared to equip young leaders with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of modern and future battlefields.

At the valedictory ceremony, Major General Gautam Chauhan, VSM, who is the Officiating Commandant of The Infantry School, honored those officers who exhibited outstanding professional competence and dedication throughout the duration of the course.

Lieutenant Shubham Kumar was recognized as the Overall Best Student, receiving accolades for his exceptional performance and leadership attributes. The conclusion of the course not only highlighted excellence but also reinforced international military cooperation.
