Lt Gen VMB Krishnan Launches Enhanced Ration System at Jodhpur Military Station
Lieutenant General VMB Krishnan, who serves as the Quartermaster General of the Indian Army, recently made a visit to The Desert Feeders at the Jodhpur Military Station. During his visit, he inaugurated the Modernised Fresh Ration Management System, marking a significant advancement in enhancing the efficiency, quality control, and sustainability of defence logistics.
This newly launched system aims to uphold superior standards in the provision and management of fresh rations, catering to the operational needs of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Border Roads Organisation (GREF), and the Defence Laboratory Jodhpur.

Originating from the Jodhpur Sub Area under the guidance of the Konark Corps, the modernised system utilizes enhanced processes and technology to optimize the handling and distribution of rations.
Officials have indicated that this initiative is projected to save around 3,06,000 man-hours each year while also decreasing the carbon footprint by approximately 180 tonnes annually. This reflects the Army’s increasing focus on sustainability alongside operational efficiency.

Lt Gen Krishnan praised the personnel involved for their innovation and professionalism, emphasizing that such reforms are crucial for strengthening backend logistics, enhancing troop welfare, and ensuring readiness for various missions across services.

The project highlights the Indian Army’s dedication to implementing modern, environmentally friendly, and efficient logistics systems that meet the growing needs of joint and integrated operations.
