Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera Unveils Sainik Institute and Modern Cook House in Nagaland's Dimapur
On March 6, 2026, Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, who serves as the Director General of the Assam Rifles, officially opened a newly built Sainik Institute and a modern Cook House in the Dimapur Sector of Nagaland. This development aims to enhance the welfare and administrative facilities for troops stationed in the area.

The establishment of the Sainik Institute offers soldiers a dedicated environment for relaxation and recreation when they are off duty, contributing to their overall well-being and boosting morale.
Additionally, the modern Cook House features upgraded kitchen facilities, ensuring that meals are prepared in a hygienic, efficient, and timely manner, providing nutritious food for the personnel.
