Lt Gen V.M.B. Krishnan Assesses Eastern Command's Operational and Training Preparedness in Danapur
Lieutenant General V.M.B. Krishnan, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, conducted an inspection at the Headquarters Jharkhand & Bihar Sub Area and the Bihar Regiment Centre located in Danapur. The purpose of his visit was to evaluate the formation's operational readiness, training, and logistics.
During his visit, Lt Gen Krishnan was joined by the General Officer Commanding of the Trinity Area. Together, they received a detailed briefing on the current security situation and assessed the formation's readiness to fulfill its operational commitments.
The review placed particular emphasis on the Agniveer training program, which is part of the Agnipath Scheme designed to produce disciplined, technologically adept, and combat-ready soldiers. Lt Gen Krishnan also evaluated the formation's preparedness for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), stressing the need for rapid response capabilities in the face of natural disasters and emergencies.
Additionally, the briefing covered initiatives aimed at veteran welfare, reinforcing the Indian Army's dedication to supporting ex-servicemen and their families. Discussions also addressed civil-military fusion programs intended to bolster cooperation between the Armed Forces, civil authorities, and local communities, thus enhancing security, resilience, and regional development.
Lt Gen Krishnan commended the officers and troops for their professionalism, dedication, and continuous efforts in maintaining high standards of operational readiness, training, and logistics support.
He highlighted the importance of ongoing capability enhancement, realistic training, seamless coordination, and initiatives focused on people to efficiently tackle evolving security challenges and contribute to nation-building.
The visit underscored the Eastern Command's commitment to sustaining a high level of preparedness across its formations by achieving operational excellence, ensuring robust logistics, providing effective training, and fostering strong civil-military collaboration.
