Lt Gen Sanjay Malik Transfers Command of Headquarters 101 Area in Shillong Ceremony
In a solemn ceremony held in Shillong on Friday, Lieutenant General Sanjay Malik transferred command of the Headquarters 101 Area. As part of the event, Lt Gen Malik honored the courage and sacrifice of soldiers from the 1971 Indo-Pak War by laying a wreath at the Rhino Prerna Sthal.
The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, Lt Gen R.C. Tiwari, expressed his gratitude and praise for Lt Gen Malik's exemplary leadership and service during his tenure. He also offered his best wishes for the outgoing commander's future endeavors.
Headquarters 101 Area, a key Army formation in the Northeast, is known for its strategic importance. It has been instrumental in maintaining operational readiness and facilitating civil-military coordination in the region.
