Lieutenant General RS Sundaram, SM, VSM, the Director General of Recruiting, recently paid a visit to the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya. During his visit, he engaged in discussions with Lieutenant General Sandeep Singh, AVSM, the Commandant of the Academy. The two officers examined the qualities, aspirations, and evolving expectations of individuals who are joining the Armed Forces.

The discussions centered around the characteristics of the Gen-Z generation and how these impact military recruitment, training, and leadership development. Both generals explored strategies to enhance the recruitment and induction framework to continue selecting and developing officer cadets who are well-equipped to handle the challenges of future warfare.

Lt Gen Sundaram also held an interactive session with Officer Cadets to gather insights into their experiences throughout the recruitment and induction stages. This interaction covered the entire process, including the application phase, assessment by the Services Selection Board (SSB), and reporting at the pre-commission training academy.
