Lt Gen RC Tiwari Discusses Eastern Command Strategy and Multi-Domain Operations at HDMC-21

Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, serving as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, addressed the participants of the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC-21) at the College of Defence Management, Integrated Defence Staff. His speech focused on the strategic approach of the Eastern Command amid a transforming security landscape.

In his remarks, Lt Gen Tiwari pointed out the growing intricacies of modern warfare, emphasizing the necessity for joint operations, high levels of operational preparedness, and seamless coordination among the Army, Navy, and Air Force. He highlighted that upcoming conflicts will be multi-domain, necessitating synchronized efforts across land, air, maritime, cyber, and space domains.

Addressing the topic of leadership in contemporary warfare, the Army Commander advocated for leadership that is agile, adaptable, and forward-thinking to effectively tackle evolving threats. He further explained that advanced technology plays a crucial role in boosting cross-domain operational efficiency, asserting that technological integration would be a pivotal element in future military operations.

The session wrapped up with an interactive discussion, during which Lt Gen Tiwari encouraged future strategic leaders to overcome institutional stagnation, expand their strategic perspectives, and dedicate themselves to ongoing Professional Military Education.

Furthermore, Lt Gen Tiwari engaged with officers from Friendly Foreign Countries participating in HDMC-21 and the Senior Defence Management Course (SDMC-91), reaffirming India's commitment to fostering international military cooperation and shared expertise in defence management and strategic affairs.
