Indian Army Briefs 65 Defence Attachés From 50 Countries at New Delhi Event

The Indian Army held the Annual Foreign Service Attachés Briefing 2026 at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, bringing together 65 Defence Attachés from 50 countries for discussions on contemporary security challenges, global peace and security, and India’s view of the evolving security environment.

The briefing served as a platform for exchanges on emerging security concerns and developments affecting peace and stability across regions. It also gave the visiting Defence Attachés an insight into India’s expanding indigenous defence capabilities and the country’s emphasis on Atmanirbharta, or self-reliance, in the defence sector.

Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth interacted with the Foreign Service Attachés during the event and discussed emerging regional and global security challenges, India’s security outlook, and the strategic priorities of the Indian Army.

The interaction allowed the Indian Army and representatives of foreign countries to exchange views on the changing security environment and matters of mutual interest. With Defence Attachés from 50 countries in attendance, the engagement offered a broader forum for dialogue on contemporary issues affecting regional and global security.

According to the Army, the annual briefing reinforced mutual understanding between the Indian Army and participating foreign representatives while strengthening defence diplomacy. It also reflected a shared commitment to promoting global peace and stability.
