Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Reviews Operational Readiness of Dakshin Maharashtra and Goa Sub Area
Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, Army Commander, Southern Command, visited the Headquarters of the Dakshin Maharashtra and Goa Sub Area, where he reviewed the formation’s operational readiness, station administration and a range of ongoing organisational initiatives.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed by the General Officer Commanding of the Sub Area and the Station Commander, Pune, on the measures being implemented to improve operational efficiency and strengthen administrative functioning across the formation.
The review covered the steps being taken to sustain a high level of preparedness while also ensuring the effective management of the military station and its associated establishments. The focus of the interaction remained on balancing operational requirements with day-to-day administrative responsibilities, both of which are central to the functioning of a large Army formation.

Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar also commended the professionalism, dedication and commitment shown by personnel of the formation. He urged all ranks to continue striving for excellence and to uphold the Indian Army’s traditions and values in the discharge of their duties.

As part of the visit, Commendation Cards were presented to deserving personnel in recognition of their exemplary contribution, dedication and distinguished performance of duty. The awards served as formal acknowledgement of the work being carried out by individuals contributing to the formation’s overall efficiency and standards.

The visit reflected Southern Command’s continuing emphasis on operational effectiveness, efficient administration and recognition of personnel whose efforts help maintain the Indian Army’s professional standards.
