IAF Training Command Conference in Bengaluru Focuses on Combat Readiness, Future Acquisition Plans
The Indian Air Force’s Training Command Commanders’ Conference 2026 was held at Headquarters Training Command in Bengaluru from September 10 to 12, with senior leadership reviewing how training priorities are being aligned with the service’s wider strategic and operational goals.
Air Marshal S Shrinivas, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC)-in-C, Training Command, presided over the three-day conference. The annual gathering placed the spotlight on strengthening training standards and sharpening the Indian Air Force’s operational capability through a more responsive and modern training framework.
During the conference, senior branch heads from Headquarters Training Command presented detailed reviews of their respective areas of responsibility. These briefings covered ongoing initiatives as well as proposals designed to reinforce training objectives and prepare personnel for changing operational demands.
The agenda also included guest lectures on issues considered important to the Indian Air Force’s future. According to the conference proceedings, these sessions examined the IAF’s future acquisition plans and key policy updates related to the re-induction of Agniveervayus.
In his address to the commanders, Air Marshal S Shrinivas stressed the need for transformative training to improve combat readiness. The discussions at the conference reflected the pressure on the force to keep adapting its methods in step with technological change and a shifting operational environment.
The conference served as a forum for commanders and senior officers to review current training mechanisms, exchange views and identify measures that could help build a more capable and future-ready force.
The event concluded with the presentation of trophies to Air Force stations that had excelled in Operations, Maintenance and Administration. Air Force Station Yelahanka received the “Pride of Training Command” trophy for its overall performance and its contribution to the command’s objectives.
With the Bengaluru conference, Training Command reiterated the Indian Air Force’s continuing focus on modernising its training ecosystem and ensuring that personnel remain prepared for future operational challenges.
